Think of “sustainability” as simply maintaining the status quo. A regenerative business goes beyond the “sustain” model, actively working to restore and revitalise both ecosystems and social systems.
Regenerative businesses are built on principles that mimic nature—replenishing resources, restoring ecosystems, collaborating and creating positive social impact—all while being profitable and resilient.
Simply put, a regenerative business is one that leaves the world better than it found it.
Agrifood: This refers to the entire journey of our food, from farm to plate. It includes everything involved in producing, processing, distributing, and consuming food. If it touches the food we eat, it’s part of the agrifood industry.
Agriwaste: This includes any byproducts generated during agricultural production. This might be crop residues, livestock manure, food processing leftovers, or unsold produce.
Agtech (Agricultural Technology): This refers to any technology used to innovate and improve any stage of the agrifood system. Examples include precision farming using sensors and data, robotics for harvesting, and platforms for connecting farmers to consumers.
