SBW Women's Hub - October 6th
We’re delighted that for the special, combined Ballina + Byron Chapters’ SBW Women’s Hub this month we are featuring well known ABC Presenter, Angela Catterns, and The Hon. Bronnie Taylor, MLC, Minister for Mental Health, Regional Youth & Women.
Angela will give us highlights of women in politics she’s worked with over the years and Bronnie will be sharing her journey as a woman in political leadership, before Angela opens the floor to you all for a Q&A session.
- Only 36% of Australian members of parliament are women, despite women making up 51% of the population. ( Nov. 2020)
- Worldwide the average is closer to 21%.
- Australia is ranked 48th in the world for parliamentary gender diversity.
Why are Australian women still largely under-represented in politics?
Join us upstairs on the Byron Community Theatre Verandah to connect with like-minded business women and female leaders of the local region for a frank, fascinating and fun evening.
Tickets $20 5:30-7.00 pm
Byron Theatre- 69 Johnson Street.
Nibbles provided. Drinks available from the Verandah Bar.
NOTE: As most of the Panelists for the LET’S TALK Women In Politics have been affected by the Lismore lockdown The Community Hub, The Community Centre and Sourdough Business Women have had to postpone this event. Stay tuned for a new date in early 2022.
