SBW July Hub: Mandy Nolan presents Women, Voice and Power – Transformative Feminist Leadership

Wednesday 12 July

5:00pm start  ꟾ  7:00pm finish

Husk Distillery
1152 Dulguigan Rd, North Tumbulgum NSW

Mandy Nolan has been using her voice for over 20 years, whether it’s to bring attention to injustice, raise money for a cause or to get people to come to her shows, Mandy knows how to speak to her audience in a way that is compelling and authentic.

In this 90 min workshop Mandy is on a mission to celebrate, amplify and equip women with the skills they need to raise their voice and use it! It’s a taste of her two day Authentic You workshop! It’s engaging, fun and will give you a fresh approach to your digital and face to face communications.

Together, we’ll explore the seemingly obvious but less discussed elements of your essence as a leader, including;

  • Who are You?
  • How do people perceive You?
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses as a presenter and how can they work for You?

Mandy will also touch on elements of her Authentic You Masterclass workshop:

• How to identify powerful and unique ideas and then align them with your performance purpose.
• How to use improvisation for content creation and idea exploration.
• Identify your purpose – what it is you want to say, and why you want to say it, how can you say it more powerfully, and in a way that is more engaging for an audience
• How to use humour for audience connection.
• How to deliver powerful messages using minimal visual aids.
• How do you speak with an audience? How best to engage and connect with your audience?

This is an exclusive opportunity to learn some practical tools to amplify your voice and get a taste of the Authentic You course – don’t miss out!

About Mandy Nolan:

Comedian, Author, Journalist, MC, Keynote Speaker, Humour Therapist and Educator: Mandy Nolan is a true renaissance woman.

Her peers regularly declare her one of the strongest comedic talents in the country – with over 25 years of industry experience, the girl who kicked off her career supporting her heroes Whoopi Goldberg and Ertha Kitt recently spied Ruby Wax laughing in the front row of her country hall gig. Wax later congratulated Nolan on being ‘hysterically funny.’

Moving to Byron Bay in the mid 90’s Nolan pioneered a thriving comedy scene and heads up seven regular comedy rooms and two comedy festivals in the region. Building the industry from the ground up, Mandy has taught over 2000 people stand up comedy…including the Emmy Award winning Hannah Gadsby!

Her love of innovation saw her create Stand UP for Dementia, a peer reviewed humour therapy for people with Dementia, the subject of her TEDx talk. She has also created comedy programs for people with lived experience of mental illness, people with disabilities and children. She currently presents Authentic You with Dr George Catsi – a Masterclass that hones narrative and powerful presentation for people wanting to improve their speaking.

A published author, Nolan’s titles include ‘What I Would Do If I Were You’  & ‘Boyfriends We’ve All Had and Shouldn’t Have.’ Sydney Morning Herald’s Bruce Elder called Nolan ‘the country’s sharpest and wittiest comedic columnist’.

Oh, and by the way, Nolan is also the mother of 5 children, who she credits as the true source of her creativity. ‘When I had kids, everything else looked easy!’
